Why AC Shifting Requires Professional HVAC Technicians
Unlike shifting a sofa or dining table, moving a Split Air Conditioner involves high-pressure volatile chemical refrigerants (R32 or R410A), electrical capacitors, and delicate copper piping. Standard moving helpers without HVAC training often simply cut the copper lines with wire cutters—discharging all cooling gas into the atmosphere and leaving you with a hefty ₹3,000 gas refilling charge at your destination.
At First Choice Packers and Movers, our dedicated technicians execute a certified Gas Pump-Down Lock before unmounting any unit.

What is the Gas Pump-Down Procedure?
- The technician powers on the air conditioner in Cool mode to activate the compressor.
- Using an Allen key, the technician closes the high-pressure liquid line service valve (the thin pipe).
- As the compressor continues running, it sucks all the refrigerant gas out of the indoor evaporator coil and lines, condensing it safely inside the outdoor receiver tank.
- Once the pressure gauge drops to zero, the suction valve (the thick pipe) is tightly closed, and the electrical power is instantly cut. 100% of your expensive refrigerant gas is safely locked!
